What is the “MCP”?
We meticulously designed the ModMed Certification Program (MCP) to help individual users gain a more comprehensive understanding of ModMed products and core functionalities. From interactive eLearning courses to hands-on exercises and applicable real-world scenarios, each course in the program offers uniquely crucial information and experience that users can apply to their everyday use of ModMed software solutions.
The ModMed Certification Program is designed to help you enhance your proficiency, hone your skills, and learn how to utilize our solutions more effectively and efficiently.
Note: At this time, certification programs are available for EMA® users only. We’re looking to add certification programs for gGastro® users in the future, so stay tuned.

How can I become a ModMed Certified Professional at MOMENTUM?
Step 1: Pick your program
When registering for MOMENTUM, you can select and enroll in the certification program that’s right for you, and a member of our ModMed certification team will contact you with instructions.
Step 2: Complete your courses
In the months preceding the conference, we’ll post the coursework for each certification in ModMed U. Follow the syllabus for the certification you’ve chosen to complete all coursework in preparation for the final assessment. We recommend you spend time practicing in the Sandbox until you feel like a pro.
Step 3: Show your stuff
At MOMENTUM, attend your certification program’s prep session and take the final assessment at the scheduled time. Score a 70% or above on your final assessment to achieve certification.

Coursework to be completed for this certification is geared toward billers and provides the basics of Financials within the ModMed Practice Management system. Learn how to create new bills and claims, accept and post payments, and generate pre-collections, patient statements, batches, and month-end close.

What professional certifications does ModMed currently offer?
At this time, we have six certifications available to MOMENTUM attendees. We plan to continue adding additional certifications in the future.

I’m about to register to attend MOMENTUM. How can I get certified at the conference?
When you register to attend MOMENTUM, you’ll have the option to select and register for the certification course of your choice. Closer to the conference dates, the online coursework will become available via ModMed U, and you’ll need to complete all the required coursework and hands-on learning provided in your certification program syllabus before you arrive at MOMENTUM. At the conference, we’ll have scheduled time slots for you to attend your program’s prep session and proctored final assessment session. You must score 70% or higher on your final assessment to earn your certification.
How much does the final assessment cost?
Exam fees are $300, but if you take the test during MOMENTUM, you get $150 off — a 50% discount!
Do I need to have approval from my practice admin to enroll in the MCP and be certified at MOMENTUM?
While we don’t require approval from your admin or manager, we encourage you to share your plan with your supervisor and team, as there may be coursework in your program that involves other members of your team. Additionally, you will be required to attend the prep session and the final assessment session at MOMENTUM, so we recommend coordinating your schedule with your team to ensure you’ll be available to attend the required certification sessions at the conference.

When are the scheduled time slots for the MCP prep sessions and the final assessment sessions?
Prep sessions will be held Friday, November 21, from 4:00 – 5:00 PM ET.
Final assessment sessions will be held Saturday, November 22, from 5:00 – 6:30 PM ET.
How long does it take to complete the full program? When should I start?
Already enrolled? We recommend starting your courses and training as soon as the content becomes available — typically a couple of months before the conference. All training materials are self-paced, giving you the flexibility to learn on your schedule.
Estimated course completion times for each certification are:
Front Office: 19 hours¹
Financials: 10 hours¹
Dermatology: 24 hours¹

To help you be as prepared for the final assessment as possible, we recommend spending additional time utilizing the hands-on sandbox training resource for an average of one hour per hour of completed coursework.
